Job summary

Abound Health is hiring compassionate Home-Based Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in State College, PA.

As a DSP, you will provide one-on-one support in clients’ homes and communities, helping them live safely, independently, and with dignity. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, dependable, and passionate about helping others.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in supporting individuals with I/DD
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Valid driver’s license and active car insurance
• Comfortable supporting individuals with varying personal-care and behavioral-support needs
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background checks
• Physical ability to assist with lifting or transfers if needed

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support in clients’ homes and communities to help individuals live safely and independently
• Assist with behavioral, social, and vocational skill development
• Support recreational and community activities and provide companionship
• Follow treatment plans and document progress
• Submit documentation and payroll on time
• Participate in ongoing training
• Assist with personal care needs as required
• Work independently in home and community settings
