Job summary

Havertys Furniture in Southlake, TX seeks an Assistant Design Consultant to support in-home design services and client engagements. You will help schedule visits, prepare presentations, and coordinate with the Design Consultant to place furniture and color selections.

The role involves travel to metroplex locations, occasional evenings and weekends, and collaboration on in-store appointments to help close sales. A related interior design background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in interior design or related field; or 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training/ or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ASID certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and attend home visits with the Design Consultant and/or Sales Consultant, including evening and weekend availability.
• Visit customers' homes with the Design Consultant to assess space and placement needs.
• Assist in-home visits and build personalized presentation using approved template and display.
• May draw floor plans with Havertys.com floor planner software.
• Provide feedback after each house visit and after final floor plan and presentation.
• Assist with creation of special-order SKUs and sales reserves; help close sales in-store when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of furniture styles, products, and financing options.
