Job summary

ChristianaCare HomeHealth is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing team providing in-home occupational therapy across Townsend, Dover, and Frederica, Delaware. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to maximize independence and safety for patients in their homes.

In this role you will follow a plan under a licensed OT, document progress, educate patients, and travel to service areas.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a COTA in the State of Delaware.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to meet HomeHealth travel requirement.
• Previous HomeHealth experience preferred; at least 1 year as a COTA.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments and interventions under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Assist patients in improving functional abilities, self-care skills, mobility, and home safety.
• Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment.
• Accurately document patient progress and treatment outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Travel throughout the Townsend, Dover, and Frederica service areas to provide patient care in the home setting.
