Job summary

Nurse Next Door in Spokane, WA seeks a compassionate Companion/Homemaker to provide social engagement and home management support in clients' homes. You will follow the client’s service plan, promote safety, and help maintain a comfortable, secure living environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Training in human development, interpersonal relationships, nutrition, and food Safety.
• Clean driving record.
• Willingness to obtain your HCA certification (WA state). If you do not have your HCA Certification, you will be required within 14 days of hire to sign up for a course and be certified by day 200.

Responsibilities

• Provides companionship by reading, conversation, and listening.
• Participates in recreational activities and hobbies for social and sensory stimulation.
• Assists client with phone calls, letter writing, etc.
• Maintains a safe home environment for the client.
• Accompany client on walks, errands, and appointments.
• Informs Agency Manager of changes in assignment.
• Provides emotional support and promotes well-being.
• May prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping.
• Grocery shopping with or without the client.
• Uses equipment and supplies safely and properly.
