Job summary

Down To Earth Cuisine is expanding its San Diego team and seeks an experienced chef for a Monday–Friday, daytime schedule. You will design weekly menus tailored to client needs, shop for ingredients, and cook meals in client homes, while maintaining pristine kitchens and submitting daily check-in reports.

The role requires 5+ years of cooking experience with formal culinary training, a calm client-facing manner, adaptability to varied kitchens, and a strong commitment to sustainable sourcing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional cooking experience (3–4 years acceptable with strong culinary training).
• Formal culinary training or certification.
• Calm, professional, client-facing communication style.
• Able to adapt to different kitchens, schedules, and client preferences.
• Genuine interest in sustainable sourcing and practices.
• Availability 15–25 hrs/week, primarily 8AM–6PM weekdays.

Down To Earth Cuisine is a personal chef service built around a simple idea: great food shouldn't require a restaurant grind. We're expanding our San Diego team and looking for an experienced chef who wants a Monday–Friday, daytime schedule instead of nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Shop for fresh, quality ingredients at local markets
• Cook a week's worth of meals directly in the client's home kitchen
• Leave every kitchen as clean as you found it
• Submit a short daily job report and join periodic virtual team check-ins
