Job summary

Assisting Hands of Orland Park is seeking an in-home non-medical caregiver to provide companionship, personal assistance, and daily living support to clients in their homes. Under the supervision of the Care Manager, the caregiver will help promote a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment while encouraging independence, preserving dignity, and enhancing overall quality of life.

Hours vary based on client needs with flexible shifts available 24/7.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one (1) year of experience in home care, long-term care, or a related field preferred.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and trustworthy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow care plans and instructions effectively.
• Commitment to protecting client privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping tasks.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with mobility and daily living activities.
• Remind clients to take medications according to the established care plan and applicable guidelines.
• Ensure the home environment remains clean, safe, and comfortable.
• Monitor and promptly report any concerns or changes in the client’s well-being to the appropriate supervisor.
