Job summary

Interim HealthCare of Columbia is hiring Personal Care Aides (PCAs) / Caregivers to provide compassionate, personalized in-home care to seniors and individuals in Columbia, MD. The role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities for both full-time and part-time work, with pay ranging from $16.50 to $17.50 per hour based on experience.

No CNA or GNA license is required, and CPR certification is required. The team emphasizes one-on-one care, ongoing training, and a supportive work environment,

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification before starting client assignments.
• Compassionate, patient, reliable, and professional attitude.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation to client assignments.
• Ability to follow care plans, agency policies, and safety procedures.
• Ability to complete required orientation, training, and background screening.
• Ability to safely perform assigned caregiving duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene, when permitted by the assignment and completed training.
• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
• Assist with walking, mobility, and safe transfers within your training.
• Prepare meals and assist with eating and hydration.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and household organization.
• Provide medication reminders when permitted by the care plan and applicable requirements; no medication administration.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities when authorized.
• Support clients with dementia, disabilities, or age-related challenges.
• Observe and promptly report changes in clients' conditions or concerns to the office.
• Follow individualized care plans and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Complete required electronic visit verification (EVV) for applicable assignments.
