Job summary

Visiting Angels Springfield is seeking an In Home Caregiver - Housekeeper to provide compassionate in-home care for seniors in the Macoupin, Sangamon, and nearby counties. You will assist with mobility, meals, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and companionship, while maintaining safety and dignity in daily activities.

We offer flexible schedules (full-time, part-time, PRN), opportunities for training, mileage reimbursement, and benefits including dental, health, and vision insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Own a vehicle with current insurance.
• Social Security Card.
• Must meet all qualifications to receive bonus.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties and be a pleasant companion.
• Report unusual incidents and act quickly in emergencies.

In Home Caregiver - Housekeeper Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
