Job summary

A First Name Basis (AFNB) is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home care across Louisiana. The role is part-time/PRN with mileage reimbursement where applicable.

Responsibilities include personal care, companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep, medication reminders, and transportation to appointments. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid ID and reliable transportation to client homes.
• Current and valid state driver’s license.
• Current and valid vehicle registration and insurance.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (background, drug, MVR).
• Willingness to complete competency and skills assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care support including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Light housekeeping and meal preparation; assist with feeding as needed.
• Medication reminders and accompanying clients to appointments.
• Monitor and report changes in client health and well-being.
• Travel to client homes and assigned visits across the service area.
• Transport clients to appointments, errands, and activities using a personal vehicle.
• Ensure client safety during transport and at home.
• Document care provided according to company and regulatory standards.
