Job summary

A First Name Basis is seeking a Direct Support Worker in Little Rock, AR to provide compassionate in-home care to seniors and individuals with disabilities. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health, and support independence in familiar home settings.

Responsibilities include personal care, companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, and documenting care. A HS diploma or GED and reliable transportation are required; training is provided and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Reliable transportation and valid ID required.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Able to work independently in home settings.
• Willingness to complete onboarding and ongoing trainings.
• Kind, compassionate, patient demeanor with vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene.
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Light housekeeping and meal preparation; assist with feeding.
• Provide medication reminders and accompany clients to appointments.
• Monitor health changes and report to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe home environment and proper use of safety equipment.
• Document care provided according to company standards.
• Travel to client homes across the service area.
• Complete required in-service training on hire and annually.
• Follow written care instructions and document services provided.
