Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides to help seniors stay at home with dignity and independence. No experience required, flexible 10–40 hours weekly with morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts in the Palo Alto area, and the chance to build rewarding relationships by Making Lives Better through Happier Aging.

You will follow care plans, assist with ADLs, personal hygiene, transfers, meals, medication reminders, and light housekeeping while maintaining safety and

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current registration with the California Home Care Aide Registry.
• Completion of a criminal background check.
• Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training.
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing.

Responsibilities

• Follow the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with ADLs within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide.
• Assist with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing.
• Assist with transfers, positioning and ambulation.
• Assist with prescribed exercises taught by health personnel.
• Meal planning and preparation and assistance with eating.
• Assistance with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Perform household tasks including housekeeping, laundry, transportation and companionship.
• Record all hours worked and report changes to supervisor.
• Drive to appointments or run errands and maintain documentation.
