Job summary

Golden Heart Companion Care is seeking compassionate individuals to provide non-medical companionship and support to clients in their homes. The Home Care Companion helps clients maintain independence, comfort, safety, and quality of life.

Caregivers assist with daily tasks, meals, transportation when needed, and social activities, while upholding privacy and dignity in accordance with the care plan and company policies.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and trustworthy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.
• Previous caregiving, companion care, home care, or senior-care experience is preferred.
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet company hiring requirements.
• Reliable transportation may be required depending on the client's needs and assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Prepare simple meals and assist with meal planning as needed.
• Provide medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
• Assist with errands, shopping, and other routine activities.
• Accompany clients to appointments, activities, or community outings when appropriate.
• Encourage social interaction and recreational activities.
• Assist with personal routines within the scope of the position and applicable regulations.
• Observe and report changes in a client's condition, behavior, or needs to the supervisor or family.
• Maintain client privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Follow the client's care plan and company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

The position may require standing, walking, bending, lifting light household items, and assisting clients with routine activities, depending on the individual client's care plan and applicable job requirements.
