Safe Harbor Home Care, a San Diego based, locally operated company, seeks Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers to provide non-medical services in clients' homes and communities. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, meal planning, laundry, transportation, and companionship to help clients remain independent.

Candidates must be at least 18, with valid I-9 documents, CA HCA registration, TB certificate, and background checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications listed: 18 years of age or older.
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents.
• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry.
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate.
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number.
• Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508).
• Personnel Record (LIC 501).
• Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse (SOC 341A).
• Minimum of five hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s).

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and medication reminders.
• Provide non-medical in-home care to clients to enable them to remain in their residence and communities.

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents
• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508)

• Current drivers’ license (if transporting clients or running errands)
• Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)
