The Village Family Services, Inc. in North Hollywood, CA, is hiring an In-Home Behavioral Specialist (IHBS) to provide direct rehabilitative mental health services in clients’ homes and community settings.

The role emphasizes strength-based, individualized interventions and team collaboration with caregivers and support staff. Responsibilities include crisis response, skill-building, care plan collaboration, and maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Require a bachelor’s degree in a social science field or related experience.
• An associate’s degree with at least 1 year of applicable experience may qualify.
• Knowledge of mental health service laws, confidentiality and abuse reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home direct services to clients/families and one-on-one services as needed.
• Establish positive relationships with client and family, maintaining professional boundaries.
• Respond to client crises 24/7 under supervision.
• Provide medically necessary, skill-based interventions to remediate behaviors.
• Help client develop functional skills for safety, housing, self-care and self-management.
• Communicate with teachers, clinicians and family to address needs and resources.
• Participate in care plan development and goals with client and supports.
• Maintain accurate client records per agency and DMH standards.
• Submit all documentation according to policy guidelines.
• Maintain client confidentiality per agency standards.
• Willingness to travel across LA County to provide field-based services.
• Attend staff meetings and supervision sessions as assigned.
• Conduct all functions per agency policies and procedures.
• Comply with licensing and training requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Arrange work schedule with supervisor approval.
