Job summary

CALDER ROAD ELEMENTARY in League City, Texas is seeking an In Class Support Special Education Paraprofessional to assist the classroom teacher and support students with disabilities throughout the school day. You will implement self-help and behavior support strategies, collect data, attend PD, and work under the supervision of the principal and certified teachers.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of college hours, and a Texas educational aide certificate.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED
• Must have completed at least 30 college hours
• Associates or higher degree preferred
• Must meet ESSA state/local academic assessment
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate
• Crisis intervention training required
• FERPA, HIPAA & TBSI training required

Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise students throughout the school day in various environments
• Support teachers with instructional materials, data collection, and schedules
• Work with individuals or small groups to develop academic and behavioral skills
• Assist in and implement behavior management and data collection
• Relay student and classroom information to substitutes as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and FERPA/HIPAA compliance
• Attend staff development and faculty meetings; perform other duties as assigned
