Job summary

Kforce's client, a Suffolk County Long Island, NY-based full-service CPA firm, seeks a Staff Auditor/Accountant. You will serve as the in-charge Auditor for diverse engagements and manage junior staff on engagements.

Responsibilities include developing testing strategies, completing planning, internal controls documentation, and preparing financial statements and reports for engagements. Nonprofit information returns (IRS 990, NY CHAR500) are part of duties.

Qualifications

• Public accounting audit experience required.
• Experience with non-profit, school, or employee benefit plan clients is a plus.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and GAAS.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Manage junior staff on engagements.
• Develop testing strategies during planning and complete planning documentation.
• Complete internal controls documentation, risk assessment, testing and sampling for audits.
• Perform substantive external audit procedures in moderate/high-risk areas.
