Job description

Job Summary

Part‑time Transport Driver responsible for operating an IMSA transporter (truck and trailer) to and from events, as well as setting up and tearing down event equipment. The role requires maintaining equipment, preparing logs and supporting logistics operations on a 80% travel schedule, with a focus on safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive the transporter, often on interstate routes, in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers, set up and break down awnings, technical equipment, and other event gear.
  • Schedule truck and trailer usage and perform minor maintenance.
  • Support weekend officials by maintaining equipment, supplies, and staffing IMSA trailers as needed.
  • Maintain equipment with cleaning, restocking, and upkeep duties.
  • Prepare travel logs, timecards, and fuel reports after each trip.
  • Operate forklifts and associated equipment when required.
  • Assist with additional staffing needs in other departments as directed.
  • Work at the IMSA transportation hub on off‑event days.
  • Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Qualifications
  • One (1) year certificate from college or technical school combined with five (5) years of truck driving and at‑race track service experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year forklift operation experience is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret business and technical documents.
  • Basic mathematical capability for handling rates, percentages, and basic calculations.
  • Proficiency with company hardware and software, including Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) for DOT compliance.
  • Capability to work in a fast‑paced environment, define problems, and make decisions.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A, required.
  • IMSA Transporter License required.
Physical Demands

Regular standing, walking, and lifting of more than 75 pounds for up to 10 hours per day. Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and other movements typical of truck driving and equipment handling duties. Requires passing DOT physical and drug screening tests.
