Job summary

Tanisha Systems is seeking a senior IMS Tools/DBA professional to install, configure, and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment. You will lead migrations to IBM IMS Tools, perform systems programming, and establish DR/security policies, training clients on IMS Tools usage.

Responsibilities include project planning, vendor coordination, and ensuring performance monitoring and space management within client environments. Prior experience with IMS Tools migrations is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, configuring and managing IMS in mainframe environments.
• Familiar with IMS Tools modernization and migrations to IMS Tools.
• Knowledge of VSAM/OSAM-based IMS data structures and DBD/PSB generation.
• Ability to design policies for DR, security, maintenance and utilization.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment.
• Install, configure, and manage IBM IMS Tools.
• Perform IMS systems programming and overhaul database configurations.
• Develop project plans with phases and timelines for migrations.
• Lead complex migrations to IBM IMS Tools from third-party products.
• Provide customer training and create materials for IMS Tools and migrations.
• Review new IMS versions and advise on client benefits.
• Coordinate vendor consultations and DR recovery of application objects.
• Monitor databases, space usage, and optimize performance.
• Ensure alignment with client objectives and internal best practices.
