Job summary

Tanisha Systems is seeking a senior IMS Tools/DBA professional to install, configure, and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment. You will lead migrations to IBM IMS Tools, perform systems programming, and establish DR/security policies, training clients on IMS Tools usage.

Responsibilities include project planning, vendor coordination, and ensuring performance monitoring and space management within client environments. Prior experience with IMS Tools migrations is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, configuring and managing IMS in mainframe environments.
• Familiar with IMS Tools modernization and migrations to IMS Tools.
• Knowledge of VSAM/OSAM-based IMS data structures and DBD/PSB generation.
• Ability to design policies for DR, security, maintenance and utilization.

• Monitor databases, space usage, and optimize performance.
• Ensure alignment with client objectives and internal best practices.

Job description

Workstream: IMS Tools

Duration: Long-Term Contract

Job Description:

• Install, configure, and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment.
• Install, configure, and manage IBM IMS Tools
• IMS systems programming
• Establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, DR, security, maintenance, and utilization
• Reviewing new versions of IMS for functionality, advising how they benefit the client.
• Evaluating change requests and determine impact to assigned clients.
• Vendor consultations for problems and questions
• DR recovery of application objects
• Lead and execute complex migrations to IBM IMS Tools from 3rd party products.
• Develop a project plan with defined phases (Planning, Conversion, Implementation, Cutover) and timelines, ensuring alignment with client objectives and internal best practices.
• Conduct customer training sessions and develop presentation materials for IMS Tools and migration processes.
