Job summary

Hire'in Solutions seeks an experienced Mainframe IMS Systems Programmer / DBA to manage IMS DB and IMS TM on z/OS. You will ensure high availability, performance, and security while coordinating with DB2, MQ, CICS, and TCP/IP environments.

You will install, upgrade, patch, and tune subsystems; manage definitions and configurations; monitor performance and resolve issues; and participate in DR planning. Strong ITIL and ServiceNow workflow experience is required.

Qualifications

• Experienced with IMS DB/IMS TM on mainframe z/OS systems.
• Strong skills in tuning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with ITIL processes and ServiceNow change management.
• Ability to design and maintain disaster recovery plans and backups.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IMS DB and IMS TM subsystems on z/OS.
• Perform version upgrades, maintenance, and security patching.
• Manage IMS definitions: DBDs, PSBs, ACBs, and control regions.
• Tune buffers, parameters, and storage for peak performance.
• Monitor IMS and participate in bottleneck resolution.
• Troubleshoot complex issues using logs, dumps, and abends.
• Support backup/recovery strategies and DR testing.
• Coordinate IMS integration with z/OS, DB2, MQ, CICS, TCP/IP, and Parallel Sysplex.
• Document configurations and procedures; follow ITIL-change workflows.
