Job summary

Mphasis is seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer focused on IMS System Programming for the Delaware client site. The role emphasizes developing, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe applications to ensure reliability and high performance.

The ideal candidate will have solid COBOL, JCL, and DB2 experience, plus hands-on debugging and security practices. Collaboration, mentorship, and documentation are key aspects of this position.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
Mainframe certifications are a plus but not required.
Experience juggling multiple tasks and projects.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain mainframe apps using IMS and related tech.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements.
Perform IMS system programming tasks including install/configuration/troubleshooting.
Monitor and optimize performance for high availability.
Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.
Document processes and configurations for knowledge transfer.
Participate in project planning and status updates.
Stay current with industry trends and mainframe advancements.
