Altium Packaging is seeking an Imprinting Supervisor at our Sparta, TN site to oversee imprinting press operations and a team of operators. You will ensure efficient setup, production, and quality of caps, closures, liners, and assemblies.

You will lead scheduling, coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, and other teams, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and adherence to client specifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/training is a plus.
  • 3–5 years in imprinting or related field with 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise imprinting press operators, schedule tasks, and maintain safe, productive work environment.
  • Oversee setup, operation, and maintenance of imprinting machines and equipment to meet quality standards.
  • Monitor caps/closures quality, implement corrective actions, and coordinate with Quality team.
  • Coordinate with Production Scheduling, Supply Chain, Injection Molding, and Flexo/Digital for smooth operations.
  • Identify process improvements and lead continuous improvement initiatives; overtime may be required.

The Imprinting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the imprinting press operations within the Sparta facility. This role ensures that all imprinting activities – caps/closures liners and assembly - are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company standards and customer specifications. The Imprinting Supervisor will manage a team of imprinting operators, coordinate with Production Scheduling, Supply Chain, Injection Molding and Flexo/Digital, and work to achieve production goals while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and lead a team of imprinting press operators, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
    • Develop work schedules and assign tasks to meet production deadlines.
    • Promote a positive and safe work environment.
  • Imprinting Operations:
    • Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of imprinting machines and equipment.
    • Ensure that all imprinting processes adhere to quality standards and client specifications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to imprinting operations promptly.
  • Quality Control:
    • Monitor the quality of caps and closures and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards.
    • Collaborate with the Quality team to address any quality concerns.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    • Work closely with other departments – Production Scheduling, Supply Chain, Injection Molding, Flexo/Digital – to ensure seamless operations.
    • Communicate production updates and any issues to the Production Manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and quality.
    • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
    • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in imprinting or a related field, with at least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory role.
    • Experience working within manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Strong understanding of caps, closures, liner and assembly processes, equipment and quality control standards.
    • Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Familiarity with imprinting machinery and production software is preferred.
Working Conditions
  • The position requires standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work assigned shift, including weekends, as needed to meet production demands.
