Job summary

Knowles Precision Devices in Liberty, SC is seeking a Shift B Operator to load and operate ovens, impregnation systems, vacuum tanks, and cleaning liners for oil-filled capacitors, following engineering and manufacturing specs. This role schedules work within 6AM-6:30PM Thu-Fri-Sat and every other Sunday, with 8-hour shifts.

You will read work orders, gather materials, run impregnation cycles, perform leak tests, document results, and help maintain a safe, compliant shop.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented self-starter who can multi-task.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and manufacturing docs.
• Proficiency in high school level math.
• Ability to use measuring tools and handheld tools.
• Routing problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Reads and understands a work order packet and other related work documentation to determine what processes need to be used.
• Gather the material identified in the work order packet.
• Load capacitors into ovens or liners at the start of the impregnation cycle to dry parts.
• Transfers units into vacuum tanks/liners at specified times for impregnation.
• Transfers units from vacuum tanks/liners and prepares them for leak test.
• Perform acceptance tests on dielectric fluids.
• Promptly complete job folders and other supporting documentation.
• Communicate with manufacturing supervision regarding any non-conformances in shop packets, materials, instructions, or other irregularities.
• Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment by proper use and maintenance of company provided assets.
• Other assignments as requested or as business needs require.

Overview: Under general supervision, Shift B Operator loads and operates ovens, impregnation systems, vacuum tanks, and cleaning liners used to process oil filled capacitors in accordance with engineering and manufacturing specifications. Processes parts within expected time frames. Hours: 6AM-6:30PM Thursday-Friday-Saturday and 8 hours every other Sunday.
