Job summary

A leading service provider in New Carlisle, Indiana is seeking a dedicated technician with expertise in automated conveyor systems and HVAC maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, and have excellent communication abilities. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a degree from a vocational school focused on Mechanical or Electrical fields. Responsibilities will include supporting production operations and maintaining equipment in a customer-centric manner.

Responsibilities

• Promote good housekeeping practices in the work area.
• Support production in a safe, customer-focused manner.
• Be on-call on a rotating basis including weekends and holidays.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Job description

Physical Demands:

• Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking
• Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds
• Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces

Operation Support & Customer Service:

• Promoting and conduct good house keeping practices
• Flexibility with work hours and days. (24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation, including holidays)
• Position is required to be on-call on a rotating basis, including holidays and weekends
• Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused manner
• Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience and proficiency in the following areas:
• Automated conveyor systems and controls
• Electrical and electronic principles
• Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
• Repair of material handling equipment
• HVAC maintenance and repair
• Preventative maintenance procedures
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload
• Ability to work successfully with little supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors
• Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
• 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
