Job summary

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Honolulu seeks an Import Clerk to assist the Logistics Department with managing, tracking, and coordinating imported goods, working with the Manager and Customs Broker to prepare all documents for customs clearance.

Requires 2–4 years in importing/exporting or related admin, an Associates degree preferred, and proficiency in Excel, MS Outlook and Word. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Qualifications

• 2-year Associates degree preferred but not required.
• A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in importing/exporting, accounting, administration or a combination of same.
• Japanese language is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify import documents provided by shippers for accuracy.
• Obtain duty information from customs brokers.
• Coordinate with brokers to obtain USDA/FDA release information.
• Track containers and arrange transport after release.
• Calculate cost extensions and update currency rates.
• Communicate updates to POS and buyers.
• Renew and update import permits.
• Monitor FDA/USDA import alerts and inform stakeholders.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
