Assist develops a Salesforce-based platform for staffing and recruiting organizations, with a focus on healthcare staffing. Our platform helps agencies and health systems manage the full provider lifecycle — from credentialing and onboarding through scheduling, billing, and compliance. We serve a growing portfolio of enterprise clients and are building the team that will take us to the next level.
The opportunity
The Implementation Lead is an execution-focused support role embedded within the Implementations team. This person is responsible for the quality, accuracy, and completeness of work across all active implementation projects — validating that platform configurations match client requirements, testing that the standard product runs correctly, verifying that customizations are built to spec, and ensuring that open action items are tracked and followed through to completion.
The Implementation Lead works closely with the Implementation Manager across the full project portfolio. While the Manager owns the client relationship and project direction, the Implementation Lead owns the detail work that makes go-live possible — testing, validation, documentation, and follow-through. This role is primarily internal-facing but may attend client meetings when context on the client ask is needed to do the validation work accurately.
What you will do
Testing and validation
- Test platform configurations across all active implementations to verify that the Assist product is set up correctly and functioning as expected prior to go-live
- Validate that the standard out-of-the-box product runs smoothly end-to-end for each client — including user setup, core workflows, and all standard features relevant to the client’s vertical
- Verify that client-requested customizations are built and configured correctly against the documented requirements; flag discrepancies and track them through resolution
- Conduct structured testing cycles at key implementation milestones — including configuration completion, data migration, integration setup, and go-live readiness — and document results clearly
- Identify gaps between what was scoped, what was built, and what is actually functioning; escalated issues to the Implementation Manager with clear documentation of the problem and expected behavior
Project follow-through
- Track open action items across all active implementations and follow up internally to ensure nothing falls through the cracks between milestones
- Monitor project progress against established timelines and flag delays or blockers to the Implementation Manager
- Support the Implementation Manager in keeping projects on track by maintaining up-to-date task lists, action item logs, and status notes across all active engagements
- Attend client meetings as needed to gain clarity on client asks, workflow requirements, or customization details necessary to complete validation work accurately
- Document all client-requested customizations clearly and accurately — including what was requested, what was built, how it was configured, and how it should function
- Maintain customization records that serve as a reference for the implementation team, support, and any future team members working with that client
- Ensure customization documentation is completed and reviewed before go-live and updated any time changes are made during the implementation
- Partner with the Implementation Manager to confirm that documented customizations align with the signed statement of work and client-approved scope
- Build and maintain internal documentation that describes how the standard Assist product works — including core workflows, default configurations, and expected behavior across the platform
- Document standard processes for each client vertical — locum tenens, hospital, and physician group — so the team has a reliable reference for what a clean, out-of-the-box implementation looks like
- Update standard product documentation as the platform evolves, ensuring the team is always working from accurate and current materials
- Contribute to onboarding and training materials by providing accurate product documentation that reflects how the platform actually functions
Cross-functional support
- Work closely with the Implementation Manager across the full project portfolio to provide execution-level support at every stage of the implementation lifecycle
- Coordinate with technical data specialists and the Product and Technology team as needed to clarify configuration requirements, resolve validation issues, and confirm integration behavior
- Surface patterns in recurring configuration issues, testing failures, or documentation gaps and bring recommendations to the Implementation Manager
What we are looking for
- Two or more years of experience in a SaaS implementation, quality assurance, platform configuration, or technical project support role
- Strong attention to detail with a structured approach to testing, validation, and documentation
- Ability to work across multiple active projects simultaneously and track action items with precision
- Technical fluency with Salesforce or similar CRM or ATS platforms
- Clear written communication skills — this role produces documentation that others depend on
- Comfortable working in an internal, execution-focused capacity with occasional client meeting participation
- Collaborative working style with a strong sense of ownership over task follow-through
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in healthcare staffing, locum tenens, or staffing technology
- Familiarity with locum tenens agency operations including credentialing, scheduling, time capture, and billing workflows
- Experience with structured QA or testing processes in a software implementation context
- Background in writing technical documentation, configuration guides, or product reference materials
Working at Assist
This is a full-time remote position. The Implementation Lead plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in how Assist delivers quality implementations at scale. You will work across every active implementation project, ensuring that what gets built matches what was promised — and that nothing gets missed before a client goes live.
Assist values people who take ownership, sweat the details, and communicate clearly when something isn’t right. If you are energized by doing thorough, precise work that makes the whole team better, we would love to talk.
