Summary: The Implementation Engineer at Mach7 is a critical member of the Professional Services team, responsible not only for performing the technical implementation of Mach7 products, but also for acting as a consultative partner to customers. This role combines hands-on execution with system-level thinking, guiding clients through enterprise imaging strategies, interoperability planning, and integration within complex healthcare environments. The engineer serves as a technical subject matter expert and works closely with Project Managers, clinical stakeholders, and IT teams to ensure scalable and future-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple enterprise software implementations concurrently.
  • Consult with clients on broader enterprise imaging architecture, providing guidance on best practices for system design and interoperability.
  • Provide technical leadership during architecture sessions and integration workshops, ensuring alignment between customer environments and Mach7 solutions.
  • Contribute to integration strategies involving PACS, VNA, RIS, and EHR/EMR systems.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and validation of Mach 7 solutions remotely as part of the Professional Services project team.
  • Provide customer implementation assistance and transition the customer to the Support Team for ongoing routine support.
  • Assist with design and documentation of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployments where applicable.
  • Communicate, resolve, and/or escalate issues in a prompt fashion to the appropriate resources
  • Follow change management processes and communicate effectively with the customer and project team members on scheduled updates, operational impact, and system downtime.
  • Ensure project documents e.g., Data Flow diagrams, network diagrams, project notes, are completed correctly and stored according to Mach7 Quality Management guidelines.
  • Effectively convey information in both written and verbal communications to vendors, customers, and project team members.
  • Reporting of relevant project information and risks to the Project Manager and Services Leadership.
  • Stay current on trends in enterprise imaging, interoperability standards (IHE, FHIR), and healthcare IT transformation initiatives.
  • Travel up to 10% for internal meetings and Go Live support with potential for evening and weekend upgrade and Go Live coverage.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • 7-10 years of experience implementing medical imaging systems, with a preference for PACS experience.
  • Extensive DICOM, HL7 and Relational Database (MS SQL, Postgres) experience
  • Experience working with Project Managers, PACS Administrators, Database Administrators, Interface Engineers, and Network Administrators in a healthcare environment.
  • Deep understanding of multiple facets of healthcare imaging with prior experience serving hospitals and clinics in an implementation or support capacity.
  • Willingness to learn modern technologies, processes, and procedures, and the willingness to adapt to new situations and customer requirements.
  • Solid written and verbal communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to effectively address and solve complex problems.
  • Optimistic, “customer first” positive, can-do attitude and high energy approach.
  • BA or BS degree in a related field strongly preferred.
