Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer for the Implant department to join a focused team responsible for establishing and maintaining world-class processes and driving yield enhancements. You will qualify new processes, match tool outputs, implement process controls, and maintain process health.

This role requires 2+ years in semiconductor processing, strong data-analysis skills, and proficiency with Spotfire/JMP/MATLAB.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science or related field.
• 2+ years of semiconductor experience with knowledge of RTP or Surface Treatment/Dry Etch processes.
• Experience with data analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP, MATLAB) and scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Gather metrology data during tool qualification phase and ensure film properties meet specs.
• Transfer/duplicate recipes across lines and ensure process matching across fabs and between tools using statistical tools.
• Monitor the wafer fabrication process by responding to in-line issues and abnormal dispositions; create troubleshooting plans and corrective actions.
• Use Spotfire/JMP/MATLAB/Excel to analyze data for SPC, trend analysis, and root-cause investigations.
• Implement Change-Point Management (CPM) and defense-lines to prevent excursions.
• Draft, review, and update SOPs; train technicians on the SOPs.
• Maintain logs of daily tool activity and lessons learned.
• Work cross-department with vendors and other teams to improve yield, reliability, cost, and throughput.
