Job summary

The Alameda Food Bank is seeking a Warehouse Coordinator to support the Warehouse Manager in day-to-day operations, receive, transport and store inventory, and uphold sanitation standards.

The role includes supervising and training volunteers in inventory handling, sorting, and distribution to clients within a fast-paced, community-driven environment. Qualified candidates will have forklift and driving experience, attention to detail, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience as forklift operator with current certification.
• At least three years driving experience with CA Class C license and insurable record.
• Accurate, detail-oriented, and punctual.
• Demonstrable mathematical and writing skills.
• Intermediate computer proficiency to read and respond to email communications, as well as enter data into inventory management or database systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to provide customer service to shoppers, public and volunteers.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work well in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to occasionally work early morning, evening, or weekend hours with advanced notice.
• Ability to comply with soft PTO blackout policy during AFB’s peak season (November 1st through January 15th).

Responsibilities

• Assist Warehouse Manager in warehouse and inventory operations.
• Support receipt, transport, and storage of inventory.
• Ensure high standards of sanitation in the warehouse.
• Supervise and train onsite volunteers in the collection, sorting, and distribution of food.
• Collaborate with Programs Team as needed.
