Job summary

Turner Unified School District 202 is seeking an Assistant Varsity Coach to support sport functions for grades 7–12. The role reports to the Head Varsity Coach and Athletic Director and follows the district’s negotiated agreement for compensation.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree or meet Rule 10 requirements, possess a valid Kansas teaching certificate, and have 3+ years of coaching experience at the secondary level.

Qualifications

• Three years of coaching experience at the secondary level.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university or meet Rule 10 requirements.
• Current Kansas State Teaching Certificate on file in the Central Office meet Rule 10 requirements.
• Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office (after employment offer is made).

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain current first aid, CPR and AED certifications.
• Provide supervision and quality instruction to staff and participants (instructional and non-instructional).
• Enforce rules and regulations: establish, communicate and enforce rules.
• Develop a safe environment for athletes: assess equipment and facility conditions.
• Plan for injury prevention and manage injuries; complete related paperwork.
• Attend practices and meetings, lead by example with sportsmanship and discipline.
