Job summary

Axiom Care in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a UR Coordinator to manage utilization of patient resources and obtain payor authorization as required for all services. You will liaise with payor sources, finance, and clinical teams to support optimal patient care and reimbursement.

You will review admissions, collect authorization data, maintain UR documentation, and communicate status to the care team. Strong knowledge of utilization review, regulations, and independent work style are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Utilization Review experience 1–2 years preferred.
• Knowledge of medical necessity and case documentation.
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing utilization review.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Review patient admission data and clinical documentation for compliance with insurance and governmental regulations relating to medical necessity and case documentation.
• Collect and compile data for prior authorization, concurrent review, discharge notifications and retrospective reviews.
• Ensure all authorization requests are completed for inpatient and outpatient services per policies.
• Maintain detailed and complete documentation regarding the UR process for each case.
• Communicate with interdisciplinary team regarding patient diagnosis, utilization of services, length of treatment, authorization status and case documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement meetings and projects.
• Prepare memorandums, letters, correspondence, and comprehensive UR status summaries.
• Other duties as assigned.
