Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field with four years of professional engineering experience.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam completion or ability to pass as required.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related degree for Transportation Engineer I.
• December 2026 graduates eligible for Transportation Engineer I.

Responsibilities

• Project management of local roadway and bridge projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with funding guidelines.
• Review project schedules and monitor activities to meet bid-ready requirements.
• Provide guidance on development of project activities such as environmental clearance, permitting, utility coordination.
• Coordinate with NDDOT Divisions, FHWA and other agencies; present at meetings to provide technical assistance.
• Assist Cities, Townships, counties, and other non-state agencies and consultants; support guidance on programs.
• Attend local agency meetings to communicate, collaborate and educate; present at meetings and conferences.
• Aid Local Government teams on programs like Flex Fund, Transportation Alternatives and Urban Grant; execute contracts and payments.
