Responsibilities

• Uphold school rules, regulations, and board policies.
• Participate in the operation of the school and system through meetings, conferences, and committee responsibilities.
• Accept no other employment which interferes with duties.
• Abide by the AEA Code of Ethics.
• Follow courses of study and curricula approved by the State Board of Education and school board.
• Foster citizenship, self-discipline, morality, and patriotism in students.
• Report for duty early and stay after school.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated locations.
• Create a conducive learning environment and maintain appropriate discipline.
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Maintain accurate records; evaluate student progress.
• Seek specialist assistance when needed and make referrals.
• Protect students and school property.
• Be available for education-related conferences outside instructional day.
• Plan with staff on activities, goals, and methods.
• Assist in selecting instructional materials.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and faculty meetings.
• Maintain positive relations with parents and community.
• Promote good public relations for the school.
• Maintain and improve professional competence.
• Perform other duties as requested by the principal.
