Job summary

Altarum is seeking a Technical Assistance and Evaluation Specialist. The role combines hands-on technical assistance to community-based organizations with design, collection, and analysis of evaluation data. The position emphasizes equity, evidence-based practice, and collaboration within the TTA Center.

The role is primarily remote with occasional travel to San Diego and other sites. You'll manage a caseload, support Learning Collaboratives, and contribute to performance metrics and annual

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, health/public administration, evaluation, or related field — or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience providing technical assistance or capacity-building to CBOs.
• Experience with data collection, monitoring, or evaluation activities.
• Experience with statistical or analysis tools beyond Excel.
• Knowledge of California’s Medi-Cal behavioral health system and CalAIM (ECM, CS, CHW).
• Comfort with Excel and survey platforms and summarizing data for non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated cultural humility and engagement with underserved communities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on technical assistance to a caseload of CBOs.
• Co-facilitate Learning Collaborative sessions and webinars.
• Support data collection, evaluation, and CQI across TA modalities.
• Design, administer, and collect pre/post assessments and surveys.
• Analyze TA participation, satisfaction, and outcomes data.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports with the Evaluation Lead.
• Identify themes in TA data to inform topics and TA product development.
• Apply culturally responsive approaches to data collection and evaluation.
