Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking substitutes who have completed the substitute teacher training program or possess a teaching certificate/eligibility. Responsibilities include providing instruction in the teacher's absence, managing the classroom, and supporting school staff in implementing lesson plans.

The role requires effective communication with students, staff, and parents, along with the ability to follow district policies and IEP requirements where applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 semester/90 quarter hours from PSC-approved institution
• Copies of college transcripts required

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction in the absence of the teacher of record.
• Conduct supervised small groups per lesson plans from the teacher of record.
• Maintain classroom management and follow behavior plans as directed.
• Communicate with parents and colleagues as designated by the teacher of record.
• Assist with general classroom duties and materials as needed.
