Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a dedicated substitute teacher to support instructional delivery across classrooms. Under the teacher of record, you will implement lesson plans, supervise small groups, and help maintain an engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree or 60 credits from PSC-approved institution.
• Transcripts from each college or university attended required.
• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Knowledge of child development.
• Ability to work with administrators, staff, students, parents, and community.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction for the teacher of record.
• Conduct supervised small groups of activities based on lesson plans.
• Maintain classroom management per teacher of record.
• Implement behavior management strategies and organize learning space.
• Follow student behavior intervention plans and collect data as needed.
• Participate in professional responsibilities and attend meetings.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school staff.
• Follow district policies and IEPS where applicable.
• Assist with special education students' needs as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
