Job summary

gpac is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join a collaborative team engaged in commercial, industrial, institutional, and public infrastructure projects in the Atlanta area. You will participate in every phase from preliminary design through construction support, delivering practical, efficient designs and mentoring from experienced professionals.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree with a structural focus, 4+ years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, RAM,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System, RISA, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or similar programs.
• Strong understanding of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS, and other applicable design standards.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional projects.
• Prepare structural calculations, engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Develop designs utilizing steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and masonry construction.
• Perform structural analysis using industry-standard engineering software.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and project managers throughout the design process.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction-phase support.
• Conduct occasional field visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or Structural Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure

4+ years of structural engineering experience
