Job summary

University Hospitals in Chardon, Ohio, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join the Rehabilitation Services team on a per diem basis. You will evaluate, treat, and plan care for patients with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing needs.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, Ohio licensure and ASHA CCC, and a Basic Life Support certification.

Qualifications

Master's Degree MA or MS in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program. (Required)
Licensed SLP in Ohio and ASHA CCC (Required Upon Hire)
Basic Life Support certification (Required Upon Hire)

Responsibilities

Organizes and conducts the Speech‑Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate habilitation or rehabilitation of patients with speech, language, cognitive‑linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities.
Directs patient participation in activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive‑linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities.
Performs evaluations and develops treatment plans aligned with patient rehabilitation needs; participates in discharge planning.
Educates patients, families, and caregivers on health information, treatment and prevention.
Performs other department activities such as documentation, billing, and support of department operations.
