Job summary

Brighton Healthcare Management in Burnsville, NC is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our therapy team at a skilled nursing facility. The SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in adult and geriatric residents.

The role offers an interdisciplinary environment where you will develop individualized treatment plans, collaborate with nursing and rehabilitation staff, and document progress and discharge summaries.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current North Carolina SLP license (or eligibility).
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred; CFY considered.
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care setting preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess residents for speech, language, communication, cognition, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve function and quality of life.
• Provide therapy to residents in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines.
• Collaborate with nursing, dietary, and rehabilitation staff to ensure comprehensive resident care.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and strategies to support communication and swallowing needs.
• Participate in care plan meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary team discussions.
