Job summary

Rivetus Rehabilitation in Shelby Township, MI, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide clinical services for geriatric post-acute patients in skilled nursing settings. The role encompasses assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and implementation of therapy plans aligned with ASHA standards.

Responsibilities include conducting screenings, developing plans to maximize independence, coordinating with physicians, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.
• Licensure as required by the State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate cognitive/communication and swallowing status using standardized tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans to maximize independence per ASHA standards.
• Assess treatment effects and modify plans for maximum benefit.
• Supervise CFY as assigned per ASHA standards.
• Consult with physicians to coordinate care and revise treatment programs.
• Maintain accurate medical records for reimbursement and continuity.
• Participate in patient and family care conferences.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs.
• Support quality assurance and continuing education within the agency.
• Assist in new program development and participate in agency meetings.
