Job summary

Helping Hand, a mission-driven school, is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our Therapeutic Day School. You will lead instruction, develop IEPs, mentor support staff, and create a safe, inclusive environment for students aged 3-22 with developmental disabilities.

On-site, 40 hours/week with a salary range of $68,000–$75,000 plus up to 8% bonus. Benefits include a 403(b) match, healthcare, PTO, and PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education or related field required.
• LBS1 K-12 endorsement through ISBE.
• EC endorsement if Early Childhood teaching role; candidate may be in process.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver differentiated instruction based on IEPs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust goals as needed.
• Collaborate with therapists, paraprofessionals, and families.
• Lead and support classroom Instructional Teaching Assistants/paraprofessionals.
• Foster communication, behavior, and academic growth.
