Job summary

EDU-AIDs LLC is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Stafford Springs, CT. The role focuses on fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment for students with disabilities and requires strong collaboration with families and staff.

The ideal candidate holds a state SPED certification (Mild–Moderate or Moderate–Severe) and a Bachelor’s degree in SPED, with a Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

  • Valid state certificate in Special Education (Mild to Moderate or Moderate to Severe).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in various settings, including one-on-one, small group, and whole class.
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate students’ unique learning styles.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP compliance.
  • Participate in professional development and training as required.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
