Job summary

EDU-AIDs LLC in Vernon, Connecticut is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The role focuses on creating inclusive classrooms and meeting diverse needs of students with disabilities.

You will develop IEPs and deliver instruction in multiple settings to support student growth. Qualifications include state certification in Special Education, a Bachelor's (Master's preferred), and strong collaboration with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid state certificate in Special Education (Mild to Moderate or Moderate to Severe).
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community members.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Provide direct instruction in a variety of settings, including one-on-one, small group, and whole class.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate students’ unique learning styles.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP compliance.
• Participate in professional development and training as required.
• Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
