Job summary

BASIS Austin is seeking a Dedicated Special Education Teacher to deliver instructional services aligned with IEPs for students with disabilities. You will collaborate with general education staff and service providers while ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.

Responsibilities include direct services in small groups, IEP development, progress reporting, and coordination of itinerant services.

Qualifications

• Valid fingerprint clearance per Texas state regulations.
• Eligible for hire in Texas Public Schools.
• Experience in a special education setting (1+ years preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in special education or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct special education services in small groups or one-on-one to meet IEP goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and ensure timely compliance with regulations.
• Develop and implement academic and behavioral intervention plans.
• Write, develop, and update IEPs ensuring alignment with state regulations and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
• Collect and report progress on IEP goals and maintain student data documentation.
• Coordinate itinerant service providers and schedule services and meetings.
• Assist in the special education evaluation process, including initial assessments and reevaluations.
• Provide case management for students including communication with families and staff.
• Support general education with differentiated instruction and inclusive practices.
• Ensure student records confidentiality and accuracy.
• Prepare data for internal and external reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.
