Job summary

BASIS Richardson is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team dedicated to supporting students with disabilities. The role centers on delivering IEP-aligned services, collaborating with general education staff, and ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.

You will write and update IEPs, participate in meetings, and develop targeted intervention plans while maintaining confidential, accurate student records and data for reporting purposes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Texas Special Education certification required.
• Fingerprint clearance per Texas regulations required.
• Eligible for hire in Texas Public Schools.
• Preferred CPI or TACT-2 certification.
• Experience with IEP management systems like ESPED is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct special education services in small groups or one-on-one settings to meet IEP goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and ensure timely compliance with regulations.
• Develop and implement academic and behavioral intervention plans.
• Write and update IEPs ensuring alignment with state regulations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations.
• Collect and report progress on IEP goals and maintain data documentation.
• Coordinate itinerant service providers and schedule services and meetings.
• Assist in evaluation processes including initial assessments and reevaluations.
• Provide case management including family/staff communication.
• Support inclusive practices and differentiated instruction in general education classrooms.
