Job summary

Maya Angelou Schools and See Forever Foundation seeks a Special Education Teacher/Case Manager for the Youth Services Center in Washington, DC. You will provide individualized instruction and manage IEPs for scholars in a secure detention setting, delivering aligned content with flexibility for multiple courses.

Responsibilities include instructional delivery, case management, restorative classroom management, collaboration with staff, and strict compliance with IDEA and district/federal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related subject field (required).
• Must obtain OSSE initial certification within 1 year of employment.
• Knowledge of IDEA and IEP development.
• Experience with opportunity or justice-involved youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate multi-grade, multi-content coursework and modify lessons for varied learners.
• Serve as case manager for students with IEPs and maintain documentation.
• Maintain a positive, structured learning environment using restorative practices.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver a well-rounded educational program and report scholar progress.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and prepare timely reports.
