Job summary

Chileda, Inc. seeks a Special Education Teacher to lead an assigned classroom, implement IEPs with fidelity, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support students with developmental disabilities, autism, and attachment challenges.

You will develop engaging lesson plans, collect data on goals and behavior, and align daily activities with Chileda's mission and programming goals, reporting to the Education Manager during a 40-hour work week (usually 8 AM–4 PM).

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in special education or related field.
• Valid Wisconsin DPI special education license or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• Minimum two years experience with developmental disabilities, autism, and attachment challenges preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills to learn and operate software programs.
• Ability to lead, take charge, problem solve, and give direction.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate respect, learning, safety, compassion, and collaboration with students and interdisciplinary teams.
• Carry out essential classroom functions: daily group/individual schedules, lesson plans, seatwork, activities and programming.
• Ensure accurate data for IEP goals, grading, behavior data, communication logs, and seizure/incident logs.
• Work with the behavior department to provide individualized behavioral treatment with fidelity.
• Provide feedback to TAs and Direct Support Professionals daily.
• Stay up-to-date with current treatment trends and evidence-based approaches.
