Job summary

Wolf Branch Elementary School seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to support elementary and junior high students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Special Education with an active LBS1 license, knowledge of IDEA, and a strong commitment to equity and evidence-based practices in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education and a valid LBS1 licensure.
• Experience with elementary and/or junior high students with diverse needs.
• Knowledge of IDEA and related special education laws.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Patience, empathy, and commitment to equity in education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs in collaboration with parents and professionals.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles and needs.
• Utilize varied teaching strategies and resources to support academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide accommodations to promote access to the general education curriculum.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that values all students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to coordinate services.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and stakeholders about student progress and partnerships.
• Engage in professional development to enhance special education practices and regulations.
