Job summary

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support instructional activities and supervise students in a caring classroom. The position runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, totaling 2,080 hours annually.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED with at least one year of experience with children and families; a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree is preferred. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, mileage, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year experience working with children and families.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning environment for students within the scope of administrative policies and procedures.
• Supervise and manage student behavior in the classroom, school and school-sponsored functions.
• Provide a consistent and reliable supportive presence in the classroom.
• Assist in direct group and individual instruction to students.
• Stimulate interest and cooperation in individual and group activities.
• Provide a learning environment that is stimulating and motivating to students who generally have not adjusted well to school.
• Assist in timely completion of all necessary paperwork to accurately record student progress (attendance, grades, IEP data logs, portfolios, behavioral logs).
• May assist in creation of curricular and remediation materials, as directed by the teacher.
• In the absence of the teacher, ensure that all instructional plans are implemented.
