Job summary

West Virginia Department of Education seeks a Full-Time Special Education Aide/Bus Aide at James Monroe High School to assist the special education team, support transportation needs, and help ensure student safety during school activities.

The position requires lifting and supervising students, willingness to attend required training on health care matters, and adherence to confidentiality. Schedule determined by Special Education Director and administration.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Must pass state aide test and have bus aide training.
• Must be willing to be CPR and First Aid certified.
• Must pass drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in instructional activities as directed.
• Duties include helping with students.
• Share in responsibility of protecting students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Perform limited, rotating supervisory duties not related to instruction.
• Provide assistance for transportation to and from school and for special school events.
• Maintain positive work habits and perform duties efficiently and productively.
